Pre-Prep - Increased Funded Hours
at 4 Yr. Kindergarten 

What is Pre-Prep at Quantin Binnah?

Pre-Prep is the term applied to increased funded hours of Four-Year-Old Kindergarten. As part of  the Kindergarten Best Start Best Life reforms  Victoria will gradually increase the number of funded free kindergarten hours from 15 hours per week up to 30 hours per week. 
The educational program remains the same—children learn through play with a qualified early childhood teacher.

Who can access Pre-Prep at Quantin Binnah Kindergarten in 2026?

 

From 2026, children in the following priority cohort groups can access Pre-Prep in Victoria:

​

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children

  • Children from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds

  • Children who have had contact with Child Protection

  • Some children previously supported through Early Start Kindergarten or Access to Early Learning.
